How it Works

1. Purchase a membership online or on the bcycle app.

   1. Heartland Bike Share offers a FUN! Pass as well as passes which can be paid for monthly or yearly.
   2. All membership levels can be purchased online (credit card required) or on your cellphone with the BCycle App (credit card required).
      

2. Choose a bike from any bike share station.

   If you have a B-card:

   1. Choose one of the locked bikes.
   2. Press the silver button on the bike’s dock.
   3. Touch your B-card to the square behind the silver button.
   4. The kiosk will unlock the bike from the dock you chose. The dock holding the bike will beep until the bike is removed.

   Using the BCycle App:

   1. Choose which bike you'd like to unlock and stand where you can clearly see the dock number.
   2. Open the BCycle App & select "Unlock". Verify that the app knows that you are at the right location and choose "classic bikes" (Once electric pedal-assist bikes are in the system, "electric bikes" will be an option if they are available at the station).
   3. When prompted, enter the dock number of the bike you wish to check out.
   4. The kiosk will unlock the bike from the dock you chose. The dock holding the bike will beep until the bike is removed.

   If you do not have a B-card, but are already a member:

   1. Tap the kiosk screen to wake it up.
   2. Follow the prompts on the touchscreen. When prompted, type in the phone number associated with your membership.
   3. When prompted, enter the dock number of the bike you wish to check out.
   4. The kiosk will unlock the bike from the dock you chose. The dock holding the bike will beep until the bike is removed.

   If you have not yet purchased a membership:

   1. Purchase on the BCycle App on your phone or go to the kiosk and tap the screen to wake it up.
   2. Follow the instructions on the touchscreen to purchase a FUN! Pass.
   3. When prompted, enter the dock number of the bike you wish to check out.
   4. The kiosk will unlock the bike from the dock you chose. The dock holding the bike will beep until the bike is removed. 

3. Grab your bike and go.

   1. Adjust your seat, strap on your helmet, and go.
   2. Rides of less than one hour incur no additional fee.
   3. Additional fees apply for rides longer than one hour (see rates).

   How to Adjust Seat / Safe Riding​

4. Park your bike at any bike share station.

   1. Return your bike to any bike share station by rolling it into an available dock.
   2. Wait for three rapid blinks of the green light and three quick beeps. That’s your signal that the bike has been securely returned.
